Ice Hotel and Northern Lights Wedding

HIGHLIGHTS: 4 Night Wedding break at the world famous IceHotel. The break includes an IceChurch wedding, fantastic sled and snowmobile adventures, hopefully the Northern Lights and a range of great accommodation choices.

Weekend a la Carte have arranged various styles of weddings at the IceHotel. Whether its just for the Bride and Groom or for a larger group we can create the ideal programme to ensure you have the most memorable time of your lives! Our emphasis is on surrounding the magic of an Ice Church wedding with some of the very best Arctic experiences possible

With our full planning support, the coordination of any guests, our help with legal matters and the small personal touches that make all the difference, we leave you to look forward to the big day!

DAY 1
Fly to Kiruna. Stay in Art Suite at the Ice Hotel.

Fly to Kiruna in Swedish Lapland arriving around mid day.

A guide will be waiting at the airport to transfer you to the Ice Hotel, where on arrival you will check into your choice of accommodation. We recommend a night in an Art Suite but if you prefer you could have a warm cabin instead.

Meet with the Ice Hotel Wedding Co-Coordinator to finalise the arrangements for your wedding ceremony. We will have helped you obtain the necessary paperwork from the UK authorities before you go.

This afternoon, you will visit the Kiruna Registry Office for your appointment to complete the formal application of a marriage licence and signing of documents.

This evening we suggest booking you a table at the Ice Hotel restaurant where you can enjoy some fine cuisine and perhaps a couple of drinks in the Ice Bar!

Overnight in the IceHotel.

DAY 2
Wildlife Safari,Wedding & Northern Lights Romantic Dinner

Breakfast at the IceHotel.

Spend the morning on a wildlife Safari through a picturesque valley to Nikkaloukta. Passing SAMI villages keep a lookout for Moose, Reindeer, Arctic Fox and other wildlife which migrate to the valley during the winter months.

Enjoy morning coffee at Nikkaloukta prior to returning to the Ice Hotel to prepare for the wedding ceremony itself in the chapel at the Ice Hotel.

The wedding will take place late afternoon in the Ice Chapel or if you prefer in the feature Art Suite in the Ice Hotel.

After the wedding transfer to Abisko, probably the most famous place in the world for consistant sightings of the Northern Lights. Catch the chairlift venturing up the side of Mount Nuolja.

From 900 meters above sea level the view over Lake Torneträsk, Lapporten and the Mountains is magnificent. Enjoy a delicious 3 course dinner with wine and spend the evening hopefully surrounded by the Northern Lights.

Transfer back to Kiruna and overnight in the small boutique Máttaráhkká Sami Northern Lights Lodge. This is an excellent base for the adventurous part of your wedding in Lapland.

DAY 3
Overnight Husky Adventure with stay in a Wilderness Cabin

Breakfast in Lodge.

Late morning set off with your sled dog team and guide for a night in the wilderness. Spend the afternoon exploring arctic wilderness from frozen rivers to Sami sacrifice areas with remarkable views before you. You will cover about 20 kilometres in your day with the dogs.

On arrival at the wilderness cabin the guide will light the fire and prepare a meal for you. You can venture out on snowshoes over the frozen river or enjoy a sauna. Finally retire to the lovely big pine bed in the attic of the cabin.

DAY 4
Day Snowmobile Adventure. Relaxing Dinner & Northern Lights Hot Tub

After breakfast in the wilderness cabin return to Kiruna with your sled dogs and check back into Máttaráhkká. Spend this afternoon on a snowmobile trip across the frozen lake and river system and to the foothills of Torneträsk mountains.

Return in time for dinner followed by enjoying a bottle of champagne in the Northern Lights hot tub situated on the roof of the Lodge. This is a wonderfully romantic experience and one that will crown off a remarkable few days.

DAY 5
Fly Home

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a wilderness walk before time to transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Abisko Skysation is widely regarded as the best place in the world for viewing the Northern Lights. Perched at 900 metres up Mount Nuolja and only accessible by chairlift it is a totally unique and very romantic location for a wedding.

We can organise a private drinks reception and you could enjoy a gourmet 3 course dinner too! Perfect whether just for the 2 of you or up to 30 guests!

A Night at the ABBA Rival Hotel in Stockholm

Stockholm is a beautifully situated and compact city and provides a great stopping off place en route to Lapland. Spend the afternoon roaming the old town and enjoy a meal out at one of the quaint restaurants.
For visitors in December you have some wonderful Christmas markets to visit too!

The medieval old town in Stockholm is very picturesque and compact with its maze of alleyways, ancient churches and small squares. Restaurants and cafes abound to tempt fun meal stops. The city culture offers the fascinating Nobel Prize Museum, 2 very different art museums and a great live music scene.

In December Stockholm has many Christmas markets with stalls selling Christmas handicrafts, mulled wine and warm gingerbread. The streets glow with twinkling lights and Christmas deccorations so you can do some Christmas shopping and get into the Christmas spirit.
