DAY 1
Fly to Amman to start of your Private Tour to Jordan
Arrive in Amman where you will be met for your private transfer to your hotel to start your holiday. Overnight in Amman.
DAY 2
Visit Jerash, Um Qais, Golan Heights and Lake Tiberius
Your private tour will start with a visit to Jerash, one of the best-preserved provincial Roman towns in the world. Jerash is sometimes called the Pompeii of the East, as it was home to over 250,000 people.
Continue to visit the village of Ajlum with its fortress and Um Qais, a city rich with basalt ruins overlooking the Jordan Valley, Golan Heights and Lake Tiberius (the Sea of Galilee). Overnight in Amman.
DAY 3
Private tour of Desert Castles. Amman City Tour.
Continue your holiday to Jordan by visiting the desert castles - beautiful examples of both early Islamic Art and architecture with their fine mosaics, frescoes inspired by the best in Persian and Greco Roman traditions.
Qasr Al Azraq This dramatic castle crafted from black basalt rock was used by Lawrence of Arabia as his fortress during the Arab revolt of 1917.
Qusayr Amra This is a bath house constructed during the 8th century containing the disrobing room, warm and hot rooms with extensive frescoes covering virtually all surfaces.
Qasr al Kharraneh This is the most mysterious of the castles. Experts are divided – was it a safe haven for passing camel trains or a retreat for Umayyad leaders?
End the day with a city tour of Amman seeing the highlights such as the Roman theatre and the citadel. Overnight in Amman.
DAY 4
Private journey through Kings Highway. See Mt Nebo, Madaba, Kerak, Wadi Mujib.
After breakfast your holiday in Jordan will continue by having the whole day to explore the King's Highway, which was once part of the ancient Silk Rd. You will visit the Christian town of Madaba - "the city of Mosaics", and visit the Monastery in Mt Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites in Jordan as Moses was buried here.
Journey to visit the magnificent Crusader Fortress of Kerak via Wadi Al Mujib, a deep valley with ones of Jordans most breathtaking views.
Your Jordan travel will take you to the little village of Dana, perched on a shelf of the mountainside that drops down into the Wadi ‘Araba rift, to stay at the Dana Guesthouse. Overnight in Dana.
DAY 5
Hike in Dana nature reserve. Visit Little Petra and transfer to Petra.
After breakfast take a guided private hiking tour in the Reserve for around 3-4 hours, Your tour of Petra will start with a private visit to Little Petra. Here in the 1st century AD the Nabataeans established a commercial suburb, a place for trading caravans to stop en route between south Arabia and the Mediterranean.
Continue to Petra for afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Petra.
DAY 6
Private Petra tour
After breakfast your trip to Petra starts either with a walk ( or on horseback if you prefer)to the Siq, a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs, The Private guided Petra tour then gradually unfolds the mysteries of the Red Rose city with its spectacular treasury, Royal Tombs, burial chambers and high places of sacrifice.
Afternoon at leisure to explore upper Petra at your own pace. Overnight at Petra
DAY 7
Explore Wadi Rum in 4WD, Overnight in King Aretas camp.
After breakfast transfer south to the enchanting desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan's largest desert and one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world. Spend 3 hours being driven in a 4WD vehicle through the Wadi prior to enjoying a glass of champagne at sunset.
Tonight you will stay in a desert camp in Wadi Rum. The camp takes up to 50 tents, each of which has 2 camping beds and electricity for a small beside table lamp.
DAY 8
Visit the Baptism site of Bethany and Dead Sea.
After breakfast your driver will firstly take you to visit what is believed to be John’s baptismal site, where in the late 5th century a church was built. Due to recurrent flooding it has had to be rebuilt several times and at least three other churches have been discovered, built in the 6th and 7th centuries.
Transfer onwards to the Dead Sea for afternoon at leisure and overnight at Dead Sea.
DAY 9
Dead Sea day at leisure.
