If you are looking for something different to do this New Years Eve then this range of New Years Eve Breaks will surely tempt you.
Probably our most popular are the 3 Northern Lights New Years Eve Breaks to Lapland and Iceland.
In Iceland you will have dinner followed by a midnight firework cruise and watch the skyline light up with thousands of fireworks. In Reykjavik just about every householder lets them off so expect there to be fireworks all night with a crescendo at midnight. Combine this with a 2 night stay at Hotel Ranga renowned for seeing Northern Lights and a superjeep tour to explore some of the dramatic volcanic landscape. Expect to see lava fields, geysers, glaciers, waterfalls and volcanoes. End your trip with a dip in the geothermal Blue Lagoon and you have a great way to celebrate the end of 2017.
Equally the two New Years Eve Breaks to Swedish Lapland offer plenty of opportunities to see the Northern Lights. Both include a trip up to Abisko – considered by many to be the Northern Lights Capital of Europe. Included is a wilderness husky sledding safari, snowmobiling, the opportunity to take a snow shoe walk, as well as a visit to the breath-taking Ice Hotel, and that is before the Lappish New Years Eve Celebration on the big night. Alternatively you may wish to actually stay in Abisko to increase your chance even further of seeing the Aurora Borealis, and even have a tutored photo evening included, so you can take some wonderful photos of this magical phenomena. Certainly a pair of New Years Eve Breaks that will create some wonderful memories.
For those looking for something a bit more traditional how about attending a Ball and we have a couple of New Years Eve Breaks to suggest. The Vienna Imperial Ball is a wonderful way to welcome in the New year and you even have a private Waltz lesson beforehand to brush up your steps .
For those who are looking for something a bit more exotic there is the Ball at the stunning St Catherine’s Palace in St Petersbourg, and we also squeeze in a privately guided visit to the Hermitage.
If you are looking for some New Years Eve Breaks that are less active then maybe the Venice New Years Eve Break or the New Years Eve dinner on the Majestic Train in Vienna appeal. Both offer a gourmet dinner whilst in Vienna the Imperial Train will stop on a bridge at midnight on the Danube so you can watch the fireworks over Vienna and the river. In Venice you have the opportunity to wander down to St Marks Square for the countdown and to celebrate with the locals.
So if you are looking for a different way to bring in 2018 hopefully one of these New Years Eve breaks is what you are looking for.
