Northern Lights and Stockholm city break
HIGHLIGHTS: 2 nights in Stockholm & 3 nights in Swedish Lapland. Sled dog driving, wilderness snowmobile adventure and a visit to the Abisko Sky Station Abisko, probably the most famous place in the world for viewing the Northern Lights. Visit to the Ice Hotel.
Stockholm is now one of the 'in' cities in the world. Made famous by the book 'Girl with the Dragon Tatoo' it has high culture, high cuisine and the Vasa!Journey onto Swedish Lapland for a 3 or 4 night break experiencing some of the best Arctic experiences and hopefully see the Northern Lights too!
DAY 1
Fly to Stockholm. Private transfer to Abba Rival Hotel.
Fly to Stockholm where a driver will take you to the ABBA Rival hotel owned by Benny Anderson. This fun hotel is centrally located and a short hope to all the majoy key sites.
The old town in Stockholm is very picturesque and compact and can be done in a full day. Also in December Stockholm has many Christmas markets so a break can allow you to do some shopping and get into the Christmas spirit.

DAY 2
Day Exploring Stockholm
Day at leisure to explore your choice of Stockholm's attractions. If we were to give you one recommendation it would be to go to the Vasa, the 16th century boat pulled up intact from Stockholm's harbour. Simply magnificent and totally unique!

DAY 3
Fly to Swedish Lapland. Northern Lights Sami Evening
After breakfast a driver with take you to Stockholm airport. Fly to Kiruna in Swedish Lapland where you will be met and transferred to your hotel, the 4* Arctic Eden and kitted out with complimentary Arctic Clothing for your Northern Lights Trip.
This evening Hakan, your Sami guide, will take you onto his land for an encounter with his reindeer. After feeding them you will learn how to lasso them before taking an outing into the wilderness on a Snowmobile Sled.
Journey through the dark forest and glide over the frozen river in pursuit of the aurora borealis. At the end gather around the fire in the Sami Tepee (lavvu) to enjoy hot drinks and snack dinner. Hakan will share his many stories with regard to Sami mythology and history.
Late evening drop back at the Arctic Eden Hotel.

DAY 4
Wilderness Husky Sled Safari. Northern Lights Hunting in Abisko
After breakfast continue your Northern Lights Holiday with your guide who will pick you up for a 4 hour experience in the wilderness driving a husky sled dog team. With one Husky team between 2 people you can take turns driving!
Glide over frozen lakes and through woods enjoying the beautiful snowy landscapes around you. Stop for a wilderness lunch before a return journey back to Kiruna.
Early evening transfer by minibus to Abisko, the Northern Lights Capital of Europe. Enjoy a delicious 3 course dinner at Abisko Mountain Lodge prior to taking the chairlift up Mount Nuolja to the Aurora Sky Station, which offers visitors a panoramic view over Lapporten, the Abisko Alps and Tornetrask.
During the winter nights this is, dependent on weather conditions, one of the best places on earth for consistent sightings of the Northern Lights.
Return to Kiruna late evening and overnight at Arctic Eden

DAY 5
Day Wilderness Snowmobile Safari. Visit World Famous Ice Hotel.
After breakfast Mikko your snowmobile guide will meet and transfer you to a spectacular valley near Kiruna for your snowmobile adventure. You will enjoy a 4 hour exploration of the arctic wilderness. The terrain includes the frozen river and lake system of the Kalix river plus Sami lands with remarkable views before you.
You will cover about 40 kilometres in your day, which will also include lunch back at Máttaráhkká Sami Lodge. The valley is home to some wildlife so you could bump into the occasional Reindeer!
Mikko will then drop you down at the world famous IceHotel where you can spend a couple of hours touring the hotel, marvelling at the Ice Suites, having a drink in the Absolut IceBar or doing some shopping.
If you would like to spend a night in the IceHotel we can arrange this for you either as an extension to your holiday or as a supplement for one night during your 3 night break.
At around 6pm transfer back to the Arctic Eden hotel where you have an evening at leisure and dinner included at the Arctic Thai restaurant adjacent to the hotel.

DAY 6
Airport Transfer at end of Northern Lights Holiday.
