Travel Plan to Witness Pamplona Bulls Run
HIGHLIGHTS:

Made world famous by Hemingway in his "The Sun also Rises", the Encierro of Pamplona is spectacular. During the festival every morning several thousand people run before 6 bulls, and 2 herds of oxen, along the legendary track of the Encierro, among the cobbled streets.
To make the most of the festival we would recommend 5th-8th July or 12-15th July for your break.

Day 1
Fly to Bilbao and pick up car hire to drive to Pamplona
Fly to Bilbao and pick up your car hire to drive to Pamplona (@1 1/2hr) to start your Pamplona Bulls Break
Day 2
Watch Opening Ceremony,
Today you will watch the Opening Ceremony for an hour and a half from a Top Balcony where you can join in the electic atmosphere without being crushed by the crowds. Thousands will congregate below you to start the festival with much joy and celebration. Whilst watching you will have a brunch with Beer and Wine.
The rest of day is at leisure to enjoy the many spontaneous celebrations that happen during this period. There is the possibility to see music and dance shows from Andalucia, Castillian Songs, Basque Flute concerts amongst others.
Day 3
Pamplona run, Visit Baronial celebration Hall, See Bulls Allocation in Stables before Bullfight.
Today you will be on the balcony by 7am for breakfast and for the highlight of your break to see the running of the bulls. You will have an incomparable view of the adrenalin charged rush in full safety on your balcony.
The route spans about half a mile through the old town of Pamplona. Bulls aren’t there with the intent of goring or trampling their human escort, but that happens as the humans bump, fall, trip up the next person and pile up, thus blocking the way of the incoming bull.
Afterwards you will go to the Baronial Hall where locals go to celebrate their run.
In the afternoon you will go to the Apartados with the locals to watch the bulls in the stables before they leave for the bullfight; Here you will see the draw and allocation of the Bulls to the Bull Fighters. This events attracts the bullfighters, local personalities and politians and is viewed as one of the social events of the festival.
Day 4
Running of the Bulls from a different angle, Self drive back to airport for flight home
Today you will experience the running of the Bulls from a different Balcony angle - much closer up at Santo Domingo so you can really breathe the action!
Drive yourself back to Bilbao for your evening flight home.
