Petra Travel Break

DAY 1
Fly to Amman to start your Private Petra Holiday

Arrive in Amman where you will be met and assisted through immigration prior to having a private transfer to your hotel to start your private Petra Tour. Overnight in Amman.

DAY 2
Visit Mt Nebo, Madaba, Kerak, and Wadi Al Mujib on way to Petra. Visit Petra by Candlelight

Start your Petra Travel break by exploring the King's Highway,once part of the ancient Silk Rd. Visit the Christian town of Madaba - "the city of Mosaics", the Monastery in Mt Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites in Jordan as Moses was buried here.

Also visit the magnificent Crusader Fortress of Kerak via Wadi Al Mujib, a deep valley with one of Jordans most breathtaking views. Continue onto Petra.

Tonight as it is Monday you can participate in Petra by candlelight. 1800 candles are lit illuminating the Treasury. Bedouin musicians play haunting tunes to instill a moment of magic. Overnight at Petra.

DAY 3
Private Petra tour

After breakfast your private Petra tour starts on horseback, followed by a walk through the Siq, a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs.

The tour then gradually unfolds the mysteries of the Red Rose city with its spectacular Treasury, Royal Tombs, burial chambers and high places of sacrifice. Afternoon at leisure to explore upper Petra. Overnight at Petra.

DAY 4
Transfer to the Dead Sea

After breakfast your Petra Holidays trip continues with a transfer to the Dead Sea with one stop on the way to see what is believed to be John’s baptismal site. In the late 5th century a church was built here butt the recurrent flooding of the river has meant that it had to be rebuilt several times. At least three other churches have been discovered, built in the 6th and 7th centuries.

Afterwards continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, for your afternoon at leisure. At leisure to enjoy the hotel and for the intrepid a swim (or should we say float) in the Dead Sea.

Overnight at 5* Dead Sea hotel.

DAY 5
Day at leisure prior to private airport transfer after your Holiday to Petra

Breakfast and day at leisure prior to your late afternoon private airport transfer at the end of your Petra Weekend break.
