"Everything went perfectly. The guides were all very good, particularly those for the northern lights and superjeep trips. The superjeep day was excellent and about the right level of activities vs driving (the snowmobiling on the glacier was simply awesome). The guide for the northern lights tour was steadfast in his mission to find them despite a ton of snow falling every second and others in the group naysaying the whole endeavour. Turned out he was spot on, the sky cleared and there they were, good on him. The hotels were both very good and although the early 4am breakfast at hotel Centrum left a little to be desired they upgraded our room due to a shortage so I have no complaints there. All in all the trip was excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed it"

Hotel Budir
Occasionally we find a little treasure which exceeds every expectation. Hotel Budir is one such gem. Situated in the most breathtaking setting imaginable, depending on which window you look out of you can view mountains, glaciers, lava fields, volcanoes and the sea.
With no other building (besides a wonderful 19th century church) this is the perfect place to relax and recharge surrounded by some of the most dramatic landscapes. This hotel has one of the best restaurants in Iceland and combined with a good wine list keeps the Gourmand satisfied too.
