DAY 1
Fly to Reykjavik. Pick up hire car and drive to Hotel Budir

Fly to Reykjavik. On arrival pick up your hire car and drive to Hotel Budir in west Iceland (3 hr) to start your Iceland Holiday.

Hotel Budir is stunningly situated on the Snaefellsnes peninsula surrounded by the sea, lava fields and volcanoes. Of all the hotels we offer this is our personal favourite!
The restaurant is renowned in Iceland for unique fish dishes, original starters and heavenly desserts.

Overnight at Hotel Budir.

DAY 2
Day at Leisure or Optional Tour

Enjoy a day at leisure to relax and soak up the special ambience around Budir or venture out on a day of exploration in your hire car to experience some of the majestic landscapes.
We also offer a choice of optionala la carte tours that maybe of interest.(See bottom of page)

Overnight at Hotel Budir.

DAY 3
Self Drive to Blue Lagoon and onward to Reykjavik centre.

Continue your Iceland Short Break by driving yourself to the Blue Lagoon - Iceland’s most famous attraction. Enjoy bathing and relaxing in the geothermal seawater, known for its positive effects on the skin. In addition to bathing there is a sauna with a view of the lagoon, a steam bath with white walls that resemble silica mud, and a cosy steam bath carved into a lava cave. (Entry cost of Blue Lagoon not included).

Afterwards drive onwards into Reykjavik centre to drop the car off.
Overnight in Reykjavik.

DAY 4
Supertruck Golden Circle Tour & Snowmobiling on Langjokull glacier

After breakfast venture out on a full day 4WD super truck adventure to witness some of the Iceland’s dramatic landscapes. Visit the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, the Geyser area where every 5 minutes an eruption takes place and feel the becalming beauty of Pingvellir. Walk through the spectacular mini rift valley, home to the world’s first democratic parliament , established by the Vikings in 930.

The icing on the cake is a one hour snowmobile drive on Langjokull glacier.

Drop back at hotel early evening and the rest of the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik's wonderful restarants and active nightlife.

DAY 5
Whale Watching folowed by airport transfer.

After breakfast you will be picked up from your Hotel and taken to the harbour for a Whale Watching cruise. This cruise allows frequent sightings and close observation of many species including White-Beaked dolphins, Minke whales, Harbour porpoises and the popular Humpback Whales. The 2hr boat trip passes several islands inhabited by colonies of puffins

Transfer to the airport for your flight home after your short break to Iceland.

Unique Sea Tour with Fresh Tasting - From Budir
Take a boat to see countless birds including puffins , eider ducks, shags , kittiwakes and sometimes even the white tailed eagle. You will navigate powerful tidal currents, see islands and explore unique rock formations. However the highlight for many is when the small net plough is cast overboard and shellfish delicacies such as sea urchins or scallops are brought on board for you to taste. It doesn't get fresher than this!

This lasts 2 1/4 hrs and is available from 15th May to 15th September

Visit charming Flatey Island - From Budir
Take the Ferry to the small charming island of Flatey where times seems to have stood still with its 19th Century small village with almost no cars.

Here you can relax enjoying the church with the stunning artwork, old library and historic sites and is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the best of remote Icelandic nature.

This is available 10th June - 28th August. You have the choice to stay 2 1/2 hrs or 9 1/2 hrs on the island.

Riding along the beach or through Lava Fields - From Budir
Enjoy the Icelandic Horses in their natural surroundings by riding along the beach or over lava fields and around lakes.

The colours and shapes of the black lava and the golden sand will surely fascinate you. The 2 hr ride is around lakes and over lava fields.There is a 3 hr ride on the beach which has to be timed for low tide! Longer rides can be organised

Glacier Hike on Snaefellsjokull Glacier - From Budir
The Snaefellsjokull glacier is one of the most picturesque mountain in Iceland. This famous volcano is clearly visible more than 100 km away. Many have written about its grandeur including Jules Verne novel "Journey to the centre of the Earth".

From the top on clear days the whole of Vestfjord peninsula is visible with its amazing mountains and beaches and even glimpses of Greenland beyond the North Atlantic Ocean. You will be picked up from the hotel for one of the best glacier hikes in the world! After the hike you will be driven down to the sheer ocean cliffs of Arnarstapi for a delicious Icelandic fish soup in a tiny fishing hut a few metres from the relentless surf and pounding of the sea.

6 course Tasting Menu at Fjalakötturinn Restaurant - Reykjavik
The Reykjavik Centrum Hotel offers a super 6 course Tasting Menu - Not one to be rushed! They take pride in offering a real Reykjavík atmosphere in the historic buildings tasting traditional Icelandic & Scandinavian dishes. Reykjavik is famous for its fresh fish so expect Lobster and Fresh Fish as well as delicious lamb and an indulgent chocolate pudding.

The restaurant has also won the Wine Spectators award of excellence for the exclusive wine list and selected wines are offered with every course.

If you would rather have a snowmobile each on the Smowmobile ride on the Golden Circle Activity rather than share between 2 of you then there is an extra cost.
