Day 2
Private Guided tour of Ancient Rome including Colosseum, Old Forum, Palatino, Augustus Arch
A Half day private tour will take you to see "Old Rome". The tour will bring to life for you the ruins from the last 2,500 years.
You will start on the Palatine Hill, the birthplace of the city of Rome in 753 BC and see the games stadium and baths. This is followed by the Colosseum where the private guide will explain the gladiatorial games and help you understand the importance of them in Roman culture.
The Roman Forum will show you a more civilized and artistic side of the Romans as some of the Architectural ruins are shared with you by the guide.

Private Guide to the Vatican, St Peters Basilica, Sistine Chapel.
Today you will have a half day tour of St Peters Basilica and the Vatican Museums where some of the world’s most important art collections are housed. This visit explores the key galleries containing hundreds of masterpieces collected over the centuries by the various Popes.
The major highlight of the tour is a visit to the celebrated Sistine Chapel, the only place where you can admire Michelangelo as a fresco painter. As this is Prebooked you will miss the queues and the guide will bring to life the history, politics and architecture of this extraordinary "city".

Private Guided Tour of the Catacombs
Enjoy a private guided tour of the Catacombs. The Catacombs are the ancient underground cemeteries, used by the Christian and the Jewish communities, in Rome. Here the Christians gathered to celebrate their funeral rites, the anniversaries of the martyrs and of the dead.
Afterwards a private transfer will take you to the airport for your early evening flight back to the UK after your weekend break away.

Papal Audience Seated Ticket
The Papal Audience is held on Wednesdays at 10.30 and gives visitors the chance to "see the Pope" and receive the Papal Blessing.In Summer the audience is usually held in St Peter's Square to accommodate the large crowds or in Castel Gandolfo (20kms south of Rome).
The Audience with the Pope consists of some teachings and readings mainly in Italian but also in English.
At the end of the Audience the Pope will invite you to say the Our Father prayer in Latin with him. (You will be given a printed copy of the prayer in Latin!)
Availability is dependent on the Pope being in Rome!
