Sorrento Luxury Weekend Short Break

We have teamed up with The Grand Hotel Cocumella one of Sorrento’s luxury hotels to offer a romantic luxury weekend break in Sorrento.

The hotel is the perfect base for your Sorrento weekend short break and enjoys a superb and peaceful position on a promontory in one of the most picturesque corners overlooking the Gulf of Naples. It is a great starting point for visiting the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. For the energetic there is a hike up Vesuvius, and for those looking for a tremendous sail there is the chance to hire a private Tall Ship.

DAY 1
Fly to Naples to start you special weekend break. Self drive car hire to Hotel.

Fly to Naples to start you special weekend away. On arrival at the airport pick up your car hire to drive the 50 mins to your luxury Sorrento hotel to start your Sorrento Luxury Weekend Break.

DAY 2
Day at Leisure, 5 course Tasting Menu

Today you have at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities or visit Sorrento or Pompei and Herculaneum.

You can easily visit Pompeii or Herculaneum by a 30 min train journey that takes you direct to both archaeological sites. The train station is 5 mins walk from the hotel.

Sorrento is a charming town overlooking the port and marinas with access to the sea via passageways carved out of the rock or via lifts.

Tonight on the terrace with the Gulf of Naples stretched out beneath you have a 5 course tasting menu with a different wine with each course.

DAY 3
Cooking Lesson Demonstration, His and Her Massage

Late morning you will have a cooking lesson demonstration with the chef where you will learn how to prepare a 2 course menu which you will taste afterwards for lunch!

Finally late afternoon you will have a “His” and “Her” Massage to ensure you are fully relaxed on your Sorrento Weekend Break.

DAY 4
Self drive to airport for flight home after your Sorrento Luxury Short Weekend Break

Drive yourself to Naples for your flight home after your weekend luxury break.

Half Day Vesuvius Hike with Private Guide
Self drive to the volcano where a private guide will meet you to take you for your hike to the main cone of the volcano to look inside the “sleeping volcano”. This is listed as a medium difficulty hike, is 3.5 kms long and should take @ 2 ½ hrs

Evening visit to Pompeii Site
This is an ideal time to visit Pompeii with fewer people and sunset colouring the ruins. This visit will last an hour and a half and ear-phones will gives you a good over-view of Pompeii for those looking more for atmosphere than the full tour. Available every day Aug 12 -21st and weekends only from July to October

Private Hire of Tall Ship
You will have the private tall ship Vera to yourselves for the day to explore the unspoiled coastline and neighbouring islands. A light lunch will be served during your voyage. Please note this is not possible during mid July.

Catacombs in Naples
The Catacombs were used from the emergence of Christianity until the 10th century with broad arched passages hollowed out of the rock, containing niches which once contained bodies. Many have frescos from the 5th century.
