Vienna Imperial New Year Ball

HIGHLIGHTS: Attend the most famous Vienna Ball and combine it with a ballroom dance lesson and some great a la carte options for a fabulous New Year Break.

Vienna is a wonderful place for a New Years Eve celebration. Recreating the splendour of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy at the Imperial Ball Vienna combined with a private Waltz lesson to brush up your skills, and a concert at either the Kursalon or the Hofburg and you have a lovely end to 2012 and a special weekend break.

DAY 1 - 30 Dec 2012
Fly Vienna to start your weekend luxury break. Private Transfer. 2 hour private Waltz dance lesson

Your private driver will meet you in arrivals and transfer you to your chosen hotel to start your Vienna New Year Break.

After check in you will enjoy a private 2 hour dance lesson at the world famous Elmayer school of dance. This will help you master the Waltz for the Vienna Imperial Ball.

DAY 2 - 31 Dec 2012
Attend the Imperial Ball Vienna at the Hofburg Imperial Palace

Day at leisure or include one of our optional extras prior to attending the Imperial Vienna Ball, Vienna for your New Year celebrations at the Hofburg Imperial Palace.

This evening don your Ball gowns and Tuxedos prior to a private transfer to attend one of the most famous balls in the world.

7.30 p.m. Cocktails will be served in the Hofburg Foyer and roaming acts will get everyone in the mood for a party to remember! Extras in fancy dress will open the grand staircase and accompany the visitors into the staterooms beyond.

8.30 p.m. A sumptuous four-course Gala banquet is served by waiters in livery including welcoming cocktail, wine and champagne

10.30 p.m. Parade and waltz performance by the debutantes and members of the ballet ensemble of the Imperial Ball accompanied by the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra.

11.45 p.m. New Year’s Gala - Members of the Imperial Court enter the hall to salvos and the ringing of the largest bell of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and guests can dance their way into 2013 to the strains of the “Blue Danube Waltz”. A number of leading soloists from the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper will sing various love, joy and happiness themed arias as part of the nights on going "The night of love" programme.


00.30 a.m. Quadrille under professional guidance to the strains of the "Fledermaus-Quadrille" by Johann Strauss

The evening will continue in the same vein with music courtesy of the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra and the Gerhard Aflenzer Big Band in the Fesitival Hall. A packed line up of other bands and orchestras will be performing in the other halls.

Meanwhile at the Hofburg Forum a hip chillout lounge and disco will have people dancing till the early hours

Every Year the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra celebrates the New Year in the Hofburg flower-decorated Festival Hall. Concerts showcase the most popular waltz and operetta pieces by Johann Strauss, Emmerich Kalman, and Franz Lehar, as well as Mozart's opera arias and duets.

Strauss and Mozart Concert at Kursalon on 30th Dec
In the building where Johann Strauss conducted his orchestra the essence of Vienna's classical music can once again be heard. The Salon Orchestra Alt Wien presents an evening full of Viennese charm with the lilting sound of waltzes, polkas, arias and duets, as well as operetta and piano concerto melodies.
