DAY 1
Fly to Reykjavik. Flybus hotel transfer to start your Iceland holiday
Fly to Reykjavik where on arrival take the convenient Flybus to Hotel Centrum to start your Iceland Holiday.
The rest of the day is free. You can Download the Suggested things to do in Reykjavik at the bottom of this page. Reykjavik is home to some of the best seafood restaurants you will find anywhere in the world. On recommendation is the Perlan restaurant, which gently rotates and provides spectacular panoramic views of Reykjavik.Take in the views and enjoy superb cuisine!
Overnight in Reykjavik.
DAY 2
Supertruck Golden Circle Tour & Snowmobiling on Langjokull glacier
After breakfast venture out on a full day 4WD super truck adventure to witness some of the Iceland’s dramatic landscapes. Visit the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, the Geyser area where every 5 minutes an eruption takes place and feel the becalming beauty of Pingvellir. Walk through the spectacular mini rift valley, home to the world’s first democratic parliament , established by the Vikings in 930.
The icing on the cake is a one hour snowmobile drive on Langjokull glacier.
Drop back at hotel early evening and the rest of the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik's wonderful restarants and active nightlife.
DAY 3
Fly to Akureyri, Drive to Husavik for Whale Watching Adventure.
After a breakfast a driver will transfer you to the domestic airport for your flight to Akureyri. On arrival pick up your hire car and drive to Husavik (1 hour) to start your whale watching experience.
The charming town of Husavik is an authentic fishing town filled with colourful houses and a restaurant right on the harbour serving fresh local seafood. We would recommend you visit the Whale museum with its fascinating insights, whale skeletons and gain an insight into the whale research in the area.
This afternoon venture out in a traditional oak fishing boat on a 3 hour trip in search of Humpback, Orcas, Blue and Minke Whales. All the skippers have over 10 years of whale searching under their belts and have an incredible 98% success rate since 1995!
The Whale Watching tours run through the day so you can choose a different time if you prefer. For example between June - mid August you can take a very evocative evening Whale Watching 3hr trip under the Midnight Sun!
On all trips warm overalls, hats and gloves as well as blankets are provided. Hot chocolate, cinnamon rolls as well as the "Captains Privilege" are all on hand!
Overnight in Husavik.
DAY 4
Visit Lake Myvatn, Godafoss and Dettifloss Waterfalls, Krafla Caldera.
Today explore, using your hire car, some of North Iceland's stunning Nature. Recommended are the majestic Godafoss waterfall - one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland as well as Dettifoss Europe's most powerfull waterfall.
Also recommended is a visit to the beautiful Lake Myvatn created 2300 years ago by a basaltic lava eruption and now teeming with bird life. Geothermal activity abounds and fascinating lava shapes and lava pillars can be seen in all directions.
Krafla with its dramatic 800m high Caldera and 10km diameter should not be missed. In fact the region abounds with natural wonders! Overnight in Husavik.
Day 5
Fly to Reykjavik. Blue Lagoon Experience and Flight Home.
Drive back to Akureyri, return hire car and fly to Reykjavik. You will be transferred to Iceland’s most famous attraction, the Blue Lagoon. (Entrance fee not included)
Enjoy bathing and relaxing in the geothermal seawater, known for its positive effects on the skin. In addition to bathing there is a sauna with a view of the lagoon, a steam bath with white walls that resemble silica mud, and a cosy steam bath carved into a lava cave.
Finally you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight home after your Whale Watching Break in Iceland or you may wish to extend for a few days to go and stay in the South of Iceland at Hotel Ranga right in the heart of the raw Iceland.
