Northern Lights Photo Competition

For the first time this year we have a Northern Lights Photo Competition for our clients who have taken photos whilst on one of our Weekend a La Carte Northern Light breaks . The Northern Lights are notoriously hard to photograph taking into account the conditions, (It can be dark and cold in the Arctic!), however we have had some fabulous entrants for the competition from our clients which are stunning - I would really recommend you go and look at them - They really are beautiful !

The photos are placed on our Flickr account and it is split into 3 competitions - so best photo of January, best photo of February and best photo of March. So three separate competitions.

January photos are all there for you to vote and there are only 6 days left to vote before the closing date. If you go to the Flickr Channel http://www.flickr.com/search/groups/?w=1773662@N23&m=pool&q=WALCJanuary12 and search for WALCJanuary12 you will see the entrants. Then just choose your favourite and you have voted!

We have had our first entrants for February which are there for you to vote on until the end of March- but we do expect more entrants as we have people travelling all the time there (We will keep you updated as we get more entrants).  http://www.flickr.com/search/groups/?w=1773662@N23&m=pool&q=WALCFebruary12.

Obviously we are still waiting for March!

If you have travelled with us this season and have not sent in your Northern Lights photos to us then send them to us now so you can enter!

Please do take a look and vote. I'm sure the entrants would be delighted. The winner of each competition gets their own personalised Photo Book with 26 of their best holiday pictures from their Northern Lights break created on-line and sent in the post - A lasting memory of their trip to Lapland or Iceland to see the Northern Lights

About Kevin Collins

Kevin grew up in the wilds of Africa and with family scattered all over the world was introduced to long haul travel from an early age. This turned into a lifelong passion which he has been fortunate to turn into a successful career.

Having spent 20 years in marketing roles in a variety of business environments Kevin set up Weekend a la Carte to provide the kind of experiential breaks that are increasingly being sought after by clients eager to find enriching ways of spending valuable leisure time.

Kevin has increasingly become fascinated with the Northern Lights, and has built up a wealth of knowledge over the years as to how to increase your chances of seeing the Northern Lights taking into account weather patterns, moon cycles , solar pulses and daylight hours. Kevin is also a fervent believer in making sure that the break is action packed so you have a fantastic time , even if the Aurora Borealis does not show.
