 My experiences of the Northern Lights Hotel Ranga and Superjeep Adventures in the South of Iceland

As we now head into a period with very high sunspot activity - one could say we are in The Age of Aurora - which should therefore bring about some fantastic displays of aurora.

We are very excited to be sharing with you are latest new break - a  3 night wilderness adventure driving your own sled dog team from one remote location to another in Swedish Lapland North of the Arctic Circle.

Best time and Place to see the Northern Lights

There is certainly an argument to say that the lights are seen at their best when there is low lunar light (ie new moon) but from experience it should not be the overriding reason of the timing of your  visit. We have found that what is more important is finding a spot where there is a high chance of a clear night ( Abisko being the best) and then it’s down to the intensity of the solar wind bouncing off the earth’s magnetic field.

Just come back from an incredible visit to Stockholm in Sweden. I found it be a city with a super mix of historical culture and learning with some outstanding museums, lots of relaxing on boat trips, quirky hotels and fun locations...and all with some delicious meals thrown in as well. The Highlight...
