DAY 2
DAY at Leisure and Attend the Puccini Torre del Lago Festival

Day at leisure to explore Lucca. For those new to the region, explore Puccini’s birthplace by starting at the Puccini Museum, before moving onto his house.

Other main sights worthy of a visit include the Ducal and Pfanner Palaces, the Villa Garzoni for it’s peaceful water gardens and the Torre delle Ore (The Clock Tower), and of course being Italy; plenty of beautiful churches.

If you want panoramic views over Lucca, head to Guinigi Tower, where the climb is very worth-while for the stunning views. Guinigi Tower is located in the middle of the town, so very hard to miss!

Lastly, allow some time to explore the city walls, which are largely still intact.

Reviews & Feedback

Many thanks for arranging our wonderful weekend. The holiday was a surprise for my wife on her 50th birthday and she was thrilled. The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly our trip to the opera to see Madame Butterfly. The rain stayed away and the evening was unforgettable. Our seats were comfortable and in a great position. Many thanks for a great and memorable holiday.

Malcolm & Jane

All I can say is: Wow. The opera was superb, and the whole break exceeded both our expectations. Our thanks also for the lovely bottle of bubbly - a truly special surprise. Without any doubt, the break and your service deserve a 10 rating. Fantastic.
