DAY 2
Day at Leisure and Michelin Starred Gourmet Tasting Dinner

DAY 2
Day at Leisure and Michelin Starred Gourmet Tasting Dinner

Today make full use of your Venice Pass Card to explore both the Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica. These are the first two must visit sights in Venice, but both can attract lengthy queues, especially in summer. Our Venice Pass Card doubles as a beat the queues card, providing you fast access into both.

In the Doge’s Palace, explore the seat of power ruled by the Doge’s in past Venice. Wonder at The Map Room and the golden staircase, amongst many other sights. Then head over The Bridge of Sighs to the prison below ground. The Bridge of Sighs was the last sight the prisoners got off this beautiful city.

Walk to St Mark’s Basilica, next door to the palace, for the final part of your Venice Pass Card. This basilica is an eclectic mix of East meets West; a very Turkish outer structure, which gives way to a typically Venetian interior of gold covering every wall. It is worth paying the €3 charge per person to gain admittance to the roof, for incredible vistas over St Mark’s Square and the Campanile opposite.

Alternatively, if you would prefer to find out more about these fantastic buildings, why not add on our Optional Extra Private Highlights tour. Have half a day with a private guide who will provide a full history, along with being able to answer any questions you may have.

This evening walk downstairs to The Met Restaurant, conveniently located within Hotel Metropole. Enjoy a gourmet tasting dinner prepared by the Michelin Starred chef using local ingredients to produce true Venetian dishes. There are two menus on offer – we recommend you order one of each and sample them both!

Reviews & Feedback

Reviews & Feedback

We’ve had a fantastic time and experience! A huge part of being able to completely relax and enjoy the holiday was that everything from start to finish with yourselves had been superbly and efficiently arranged. It has been a pleasure dealing with you and having our holiday arranged by you. The hotels were excellent, with friendly and helpful staff. Also the standard of transfer vehicles and drivers was excellent too. It helps so much when you know everything has been arranged to such a standard.

Judith and Philip

I have to say on behalf of Carol and myself that the trip was as close to perfect as to be unbelievable. The transfers and hotels, were brilliant and the Opera took the experience to a whole new level. I really do not know how to thank you all for your help in arranging this trip of a lifetime, other than to offer our heartfelt thanks to you.
